There is something curious that goes on in the mind of common church-going folk. When any sort of calamity should strike the lives of anyone around them, they have this sort of arrogant entitlement that everything will work out because they are Christians, and God owes them or something. This is what they think faith is.

I am not claiming to be very competent in my faith, but I know for a fact that this is not a proper view of how God works in our lives, nor how he chooses whose lives he will send an extra blessing in the form of healing or maybe some sort of financial provision.

I get bothered by a lot, and while I realize this is likely mostly my fault, I may be wrong for the way I look at the people who do these things, but I am not wrong in my naming of them as leading themselves astray (so to speak).

There is so much unnecessary confusion in congregations of churches all over North America, and there are likely many reasons for this, a significant one I believe is that Churches are typically too large for effective shepherding to be done, and many sheep get lost and they don’t know it and their pastor does not know it. The pastor may catch a few, but is that really the goal of proper shepherding? Is this what all lay-men and women have to look forward to for spiritual leadership and guidance?

There is far too many lost sheep in the world, and I am not even talking about the ones that have not been reached at all, I’m talking about the ones faithfully going to church every single Sunday, and walking out with blissful ignorance that they have the christian-walk in the palm of their hands, and Jesus should be so lucky to welcome them to heaven when their prestigious life of faith has ceased to exist on this earth and proceeded heavenward.

Life is not so simple, and if the simple-minded can not fully understand the complexities of life, they should in the least be armed with the knowledge that life is not as simple as they think, and wisdom is not the same as understanding, and their is no award for feeling like you have arrived in your christian walk, but rather it is a warning that you probably have some blinders on, and are not seeing the big-picture and have ceased to grow.

I may be wrong about all this, but this is how I see things right now.
